UK government commits over £30 million of funding to tackle antimicrobial resistance

The UK government has announced that it will be committing over £30 million of funding and will continue to lead the global fight against antimicrobial resistance. The funding will be delivered via four new projects as part of the Global AMR Innovation Fund. One of these projects will be delivered by BBSRC and NERC, on behalf of UKRI.

UK scientists return to the Arctic Ocean to measure climate change threat to marine life

The £16 million UK flagship Changing Arctic Ocean programme sets off today on a scientific cruise to the Arctic Ocean. Funded by NERC, researchers from institutes across the UK are heading to the Fram Strait region between Greenland and Svalbard to look at the effects of warming on Arctic marine life.
