NERC funds a number of schemes to enable researchers to work with partners in business, policy and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), providing access to the latest knowledge and expertise. Each delivers cost-effective research driven by partners' priorities, and creates an opportunity for long-term collaboration with the research base.
To enable NERC researchers and their partners to prepare, these are the calls we currently have confirmed or are very likely to be advertised in 2017.

Cabinet Office High Level Knowledge Exchange Fellowship
NERC, in partnership with the Civil Contingencies Secretariat (CCS) of the Cabinet Office, is inviting applications for a Knowledge Exchange (KE) Fellowship, which will address how policymakers in the resilience and national security fields can draw on NERC science to protect the people of the UK. The fellow will enable CCS to take into account the latest environmental science, demonstrating the value and impact of environmental science within national risk assessment and resilience policymaking.
NERC invites applications from existing researchers to apply for 3 to 12 month placements based in non-academic organisations. Projects must fall within the NERC remit and must identify clear examples of where environmental research, data and skills can be used to make a difference.
