Oil & gas decommissioning funding call

Oil rig

Call closing date: 16:00 on 15 September 2016

As part of the Oil and Gas Innovation Programme, NERC invited proposals for research translation projects focused on oil and gas decommissioning and its environmental management, which address industry challenges related to:

  • Development of environmental baselines and innovative monitoring techniques and approaches.
  • Data management, sharing, access and collaboration.
  • Impact of man-made structures on the natural environment and options for decommissioning.

A one-day interactive brokerage event was held on 5 July 2016 in Aberdeen. Following the event, participants had the opportunity to develop and submit a research translation project proposal through Je-S.

Proposals were only accepted from those who participated in the brokerage event.

All proposals were required to involve an end-user project partner (or partners) (ie private, public or third sector organisations or institutions, private industry, public bodies (such as government departments, local government, regulatory authorities, etc.), non-government organisations or charities).

Projects were expected to be short-term (up to 12 months).

Brokerage event attendees were invited to submit full proposals which needed to be submitted via Je-S by 15 September 2016.
