2018 NERC Industrial Strategy Innovation Placements

Supported through the National Productivity Investment Fund, NERC Industrial Strategy Innovation Placements enable recently completed PhD students working within NERC's remit to spend time with non-academic partners to explore impact from their research and develop links between academia and industry. Placements may be up to a maximum of 12 months in duration.

Funding

This is not a funding call.

Funding for the 2018 Industrial Strategy Innovation Placements has been allocated to NERC Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTPs) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) to deliver on behalf of NERC.

While these placements have been allocated to existing DTPs and CDTs to deliver they are open to all individuals who will complete, or will have recently completed, a PhD within NERC remit in the 2018-19 academic year - see eligibility section below for further information.

The 20 award holders who are able to support Industrial Strategy Innovation Placements for the 2018-19 academic year are:

Arrangements for financial support during these placements will be at the discretion of the hosting organisation(s). Individuals are therefore advised to discuss their funding options directly with the organisations listed above.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to all individuals who will complete, or will have recently completed, a PhD within the NERC remit in the 2018-19 academic year. Completed students, in this instance, are considered to be those who have passed their viva. Placement opportunities will not be limited to individuals funded by NERC DTPs or CDTs, or those currently hosted by DTP/CDT partner institutions.
