Announcement of Opportunity: RoSES

Please note: All shiptime and marine equipment (SME) requests must be submitted via the Marine Facilities Planning webpage no later than 14 November to ensure receipt of costings before the proposal submission deadline. SME's should be kept in draft status and early communication with National Marine Facilities is strongly advised.

Proposals are invited under a new research programme - The Role of the Southern Ocean in the Earth System (RoSES).
This programme aims to substantially reduce uncertainty in 21st century global climate change projections through improved assessment of the Southern Ocean carbon sink.
£5·2 million is available to fund up to three proposals, one to address challenge one and two to address challenge two of the programme.
