Marine Integrated Autonomous Observing Systems Announcement of Opportunity

This call has now closed.

Please note: Section 3·4 of the AO has been amended: Prospective applicants are advised that NERC will fund 100% of costs associated with the Marine Integrated Autonomous Observing Systems (MARS) facility, and not 80% as previously stated.

Proposals are invited for a new research programme on improving understanding of shelf sea ecosystem function using integrated autonomous observing systems.

This research programme will address the scientific and technological challenges of using new technologies to deliver a more efficient and integrated next-generation UK marine observing programme, capable of meeting science and policy data requirements now and into the future.

Up to £3·6 million is available for this call to fund two research projects, one to address each of the programme's two challenges.
