The 2019 annual science meeting (ASM) of the Changing Arctic Ocean (CAO) programme will take place from lunchtime on 15 January 2019 and all day on 16 January 2019. A number of additional meetings and workshops are scheduled for 17 January 2019 (details below).

All researchers directly involved in the Changing Arctic Ocean programme, either through research grant awards or CAO programme management, are invited.

Posters

During the ASM, poster boards will be available to display project research. The number of boards are limited to 40, these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to submit a poster, please select the option on the online registration form (see link in 'How to apply') and include the title and abstract of your poster. Thursday 17 January 2019

The Programme Advisory Group will meet all day on Thursday. Lead investigators are not expected to be present during the meeting.

New user groups

The CAO has a number of new user groups and each group will have the opportunity for a half-day meeting on the Thursday morning. If you would like to participate in one of these user group meetings please select the option on the online form.

Early career researcher workshop

An early career researcher (ECR) workshop will take place all day on Thursday. This is aimed at PhD students and post-docs, but more senior researchers are welcome to join this workshop. The workshop will have ECR talks in the morning and a modelling session in the afternoon.

When registering for this workshop, please indicate your intention to participate in either or both the morning and afternoon sessions. If you would like to submit a talk to the morning session, please include your talk title and abstract. The scheduling and chairing of the ECR talks will be led by volunteers within the ECR group (Kirsty Crocket, Science Coordinator, will follow up shortly).

Accommodation

For CAO investigators funded by our German partners, accommodation and travel expenses are part of your project budgets so you should make your own arrangements. A list of hotels near the venue can be found in the document below.
