RRS Sir David Attenborough - An exciting new chapter for UK science

We are looking at the future for this exciting new platform and want to hear ideas from the science community about how we can best embrace the amazing science opportunities the ship will create. Although SDA will also conduct logistics, we are especially keen to understand how we can maximise science output. The ship will have double the berth capacity of RRS James Clark Ross, longer endurance, greater range, and state-of-the-art science laboratories and equipment.

To make use of the flexibilities these capabilities bring, we need to hear from you about what research you'd like to do, and when and where you'd like to do it. We are working up our plans now so there's no time like the present to let us know your thoughts. Please email Ray Leakey (Lead Scientist on SDA Project) at and Natalie Clark (NERC Marine Planning) at .
