NERC colleagues included in Queen's Birthday Honours

NERC is pleased to announce that five colleagues have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2018 for their services to environmental science.

We would like to congratulate:

Professor Deborah Greaves OBE, Head of School of Engineering, University of Plymouth, who has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to marine renewable energy, equalities and higher education.

Janice Bradley MBE, Head of Conservation, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, who has been appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to wildlife in Nottinghamshire.

Professor Chris Collier MBE, Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science and former Head of Strategic Partnerships at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, who has been awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to atmospheric science.

Dr Andy Chadwick MBE, individual merit research scientist at the British Geological Survey, who has been appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to the science of carbon capture and sequestration.

Professor Louise Heathwaite CBE, Professor of Land & Water Science at Lancaster University, who has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to scientific research and scientific advice to government. Professor Heathwaite is currently a council member of NERC and previously was a NERC science theme leader.
