NERC to re-run Centre for Doctoral Training interview panel
14 October 2014
It has come to light that the interview panel for the Risk and Mitigation category of the 2014 Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) call was compromised by an unintentional conflict of interest unperceived at the time.
NERC takes the impartiality and integrity of its peer review processes extremely seriously. It has therefore decided to re-run the interview process.
The conflict of interest only came to light after the interviews were concluded but before the outcome had been confirmed.
A new panel will now be recruited and convened at the earliest opportunity.
NERC would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our thanks to all the original panel members and to all those who attended interviews. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
We would also like to express our continuing gratitude to all those who take part in our peer review processes. Your contributions are vital to our work and the academic excellence of environmental science in the UK.
