BGS Science Advisory Committee vacancies
26 July 2018
UK Research & Innovation - through NERC - is reforming the governance and funding arrangements of the British Geological Survey (BGS). These reforms will better enable BGS to diversify and attract more external funding to ensure it can continue as a globally leading survey, delivering services and providing infrastructure support nationally and globally.
As part of the new governance arrangements, BGS is establishing a Science Advisory Committee and applications are invited for positions on the committee.
Reasonable travel and subsistence will be payable, along with an attendance fee of £170 (£230 for the Chair) per meeting, in accordance with NERC policy.
For further information and details on how to apply, please see the BGS Science Advisory Committee recruitment information (pdf) - external link.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is 12:00 on 5 September 2018.
Interviews will be held in London on 8-9 October 2018. The inaugural Science Advisory Committee meeting will be held on Friday 16 November 2018 at the BGS offices in Keyworth near Nottingham.
BGS is committed to the principle of public appointment with openness and transparency of process and to providing equal opportunities for all, irrespective of race, age, disability, gender, marital status, religion, sexual orientation, transgender and working patterns. BGS is particularly keen to ensure diversity in membership of its Science Advisory Committee.
