We are inviting individuals to submit expressions of interests to attend a Town Hall Meeting for the NERC Digital Solutions Programme.
The £5m programme investment in Digital Solutions will deliver broad, lasting impact through the delivery of economic and societal benefits from data held both by NERC and third parties. To achieve this it will work closely with stakeholders across the non-academic community in order to generate a step-change in the availability and usefulness of data products to users, allowing them to readily exploit this information. To support the programme, in addition to the research and innovation programme investment up to £3m Capital investment and £2m funding for the NERC EDS is available. The programme will take collaborative approaches towards:
- Facilitating the acquisition of environmental and multi-disciplinary datasets
- Delivering impact, both in policy, economic and societal terms from the use of data
This short meeting will disseminate information about NERC's vision and direction for environmental data and answer questions around the new Digital Solutions Programme.
The meeting will include presentations from Simon Gardner – NERC Head of Digital Environment and Phil Heads – NERC Director of Strategic Partnerships. The day will focus on the upcoming Digital Solutions Programme and its purpose and function moving forward. An agenda for the meeting will be shared shortly.
Due to the limited space available, places will be on a first come first serve basis. Please complete the online registration form. Attendance of the meeting is not mandatory for applicants.
The deadline for registering for this meeting is 16:00 on 10 October 2019.
