Pre-announcement: Joint BBSRC-NERC GCRF sustainable enhancement of agriculture & aquaculture production translation call

NERC and the Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) will shortly announce a joint call to support the translation of research to address challenges related to the sustainable enhancement of agriculture (including crops and livestock) and aquaculture (including finfish and shellfish) in low and middle income countries (LMICs) on the Development Assistance Committee list of Official Development Assistance recipients (PDF) - external link in the Sub-Saharan Africa, Southern Asia and Southeastern Asia regions[1].

The purpose of this initiative is to increase and accelerate the uptake and impact of BBSRC and/or NERC-funded research into practical application, supporting interdisciplinary projects to address current food security development and environmental challenges related to food production in the listed LMICs. A total of up to £3·4 million will be available, to support multidisciplinary research translation projects of up to 24 months in duration.
