As part of listening to our communities on the new public engagement with research strategy, NERC will run an event on Tuesday 15 October to get feedback and understand how we can work with our partners to achieve the strategy. The event will also celebrate research that has successfully demonstrated purposeful engagement in the research community.

NERC invites expressions of interest from diverse stakeholders to attend a consultation event for NERC's public engagement with research strategy, where delegates have the opportunity to provide feedback on NERC's new public engagement with research strategy. The one-day workshop will have the following aims:

  • To hear feedback on NERC's new public engagement with research strategy.
  • To understand how we can work with our partners to achieve the strategy aims.
  • To celebrate research that has successfully demonstrated purposeful engagement in the research community.

The event will be open to apply to attend for one person per institution, and there are limited places available. Applications to attend will be sifted by NERC to ensure that the event has a breadth of expertise of the community and a balance of different perspectives, disciplines, expertise and affiliations, with diversity in mind.

It is expected that a maximum of 100 participants will be invited to attend.

To express interest in attending this event, please complete the online registration form. The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 6 September 2019 and invited participants will be notified by 16 September.

NERC will cover reasonable travel and subsistence costs for those for which cost is a barrier to attend.
